Eliza Stamps

Biography

Eliza Stamps was raised in Newton, Massachusetts.  She graduated from Bates College with a BA in Studio Art and Art History in 2001.  She received her MFA from the Pratt Institute in 2006.  She has exhibited in New York City and nationally, having her first solo show at Mehr Gallery in Chelsea in 2008.  In addition to her drawing, she is one third of an artist collective, the Wild Feasties.  The Feasties produce performance-based installation projects based on the artful act of creating and consuming delicious, local foods.  The Wild Feasties’ most recent project was at the Verge Art Fair during Art Basel/Miami Beach in December 2009.   When not drawing, Eliza sings in a band called Make Nice.  Eliza also has a cookbook, [fresh and delicious] in process, with a focus on simple, vegetarian cuisine with a hip-hop theme.
